Description

Retama monosperma, the bridal broom or bridal veil broom, is a large much-branched flowering shrub with slender stems, growing up to 3 metres tall. The leaves are very small, short-lived and the plant often remains leafless for most of the year, photosynthesis being carried out by the green stems. It is native to the Mediterranean region, chiefly Spain and North Africa. Its native habitat is coastal scrub, but it often inhabits wasteland and roadsides. Further details<
