Ferula communis subsp. catalaunica
Ferula communis subsp. catalaunica is a striking, hardy and large tap-rooted herbaceous perennial, native to the Iberian Peninsula. It is a giant fennel, reaching anything between 2–4 metres at maturity, although being deciduous it dies back below ground level each summer. It is also worth mentioning that each growing season you get the benefit of several different plant forms as it develops delicate shrubby umbrella-like leaves, 50-60 cm above the ground, followed by a flower head that bolts
